Google: Renting Specialist Or Expert Names Does Not Help With EAT

Google's John Mueller has said that it is best to have an expert write or review your content for the YMYL (your money, your life) types of categories of web sites. In fact, John Mueller went as far to say that when a doctor reviews your content, you might want to label that content as been reviewed and by whom. But Danny Sullivan implied that renting these people's names won't necessarily help.

Danny Sullivan from Google said on Twitter "It doesn't work like that." When someone said to him "I am seeing a growing number of sites who are "renting" specialist's names in EAT segments to add to the bylines in order to add authority to their content."

What are we doing?

The content has to be authentic, unique, genuine and real. Google can tell if it is written by an expert, Google can just tell. Not because it has a name on it per-say but because of many other signals Google picks up on.
