Google BERT, NY Times Hit, Flash Dies Again, Link Building & Much More

Nov 1, 2019 - 9:15 am 1 by

In this weeks video I get a bit more fancy with my editing, I hope you find it funny and I apologize about my congestion but I hope the video editing makes up for it? I spent more time on Google BERT, how Google said you can’t optimize for it, why it felt small to most people but Google said it was big. Oh, the New York Times said it was hit by it, which is very interesting. Google said there are no BERT scores. Google will stop indexing Flash by the end of this year. Google is not working on a content submission API like Bing, they find value in crawling the web. Google said there are no plans to add referrer data to Google Discover. Google mobile first indexing is not about ranking changes. Google said internal PageRank sculpting is a waste of time. Google said diminishing traffic on links is not a bad thing for links in terms of SEO. A poll shows 50% of SEOs have bought links in the past five years. Google said building too many links too fast can be bad. Google is investigating broken search operators. Google launched Site Kit for WordPress to all WordPress blogs. Google launched a new How Search Works video. Google Ads had a login bug this week, it didn’t impact ad serving or reporting. Google Ads launched a new lead form extension that is sweet. Google My Business now lets some business send photos via the messaging tool. I also posted my part two with Eric Enge on the vlog, I hope you like it. Let me know how you liked the editing style on this video and don’t forget to like the video and subscribe! That was this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
