Google: Don't Let Your Dynamic Rendering Timeout

Google Timeout

Google has been talking about dynamic rendering as an option for Google to index the content on some of your JavaScript pages for over a year now. Some have been trying it and one person said he is having issues because it tends to take too long for the content to render.

The developer wrote on Twitter "I have been following all your videos on YouTube and they r great..,I implemented dynamic rendering in one of my sites and the server response time increased substantially for the Bot since it is waiting for my SPA to render completely, won't this affect SEO??"

Martin Splitt from Google responded saying "If your setup takes too long to respond, Googlebot might time out. It does affect your pages, so you wanna take a careful look at potential caching options."

The truth is, any content or page that takes too long for Google to load can potentially lead to those pages not doing well in search. So this advice should be across the board, not just for JavaScript and/or dynamic rendering.
