Google: Don't Guest Blog For Links, Use Your Own Site

In 2014, Google declared guest blogging for links dead and has penalized guest blog networks time after time since then. So when someone asked Google's John Mueller on Twitter if using a guest blogging platform was a good idea and safe, my jaw dropped.

John said "I wouldn't guest-post for links." He said it is not safe. He added, instead of using guest blogging "use your own site to spread the word," he said.

Clearly, Google isn't a fan of guest blogging for links - they have penalized many guest blog networks and have targeted similar link networks. So don't risk it. If you do a guest blog post, do it without the intent of a link and don't do it in masses.
