Google Maps Supports Plus Codes For Places Without Addresses

Pegman Google MapsGregor J. Rothfuss, the technology lead for the Google Maps team, announced on Google+ that Google Maps now supports places without addresses.

This is also known as location codes or plus codes. Plus+Codes are short codes for locations, for places that don't have their own street address.

Gregor said on Google+:

google maps now supports open location codes, which are a nice alternative to addresses in the many parts of the world that don't have a good addressing scheme. you can learn more at http://plus.codes/

Here is an example of it working in Google Maps for a search on [XQ+2P]:

This might seem like an insignificant change but it is pretty big.
