Google Germany

Everyone here saw this coming. You had a bunch of German publishers upset Google indexed their content, forced Google to remove their snippets from the search results, and now the publishers say they will go bankrupt if they aren't reincluded.

Reported first by Techcrunch and covered better by Greg Sterling at Search Engine Land, the publishers need back in, so they get traffic from Google and can monetize their sites.

VG Media, the group of 200 or so Germany publishers said they lost so much traffic because Google removed their snippets, it is causing some of those publishers "to go bankrupt." They are saying it is causing "major economic pressure" on them but they are still fighting for Google to give an 11 percent revenue share "directly and indirectly from making excerpts from online newspapers and magazines public."

You all saw it coming!
