David Sayce

David Sayce is 44 years old, lives in London but spends some of his time both in Philadelphia and San Diego. David is a family man, as you can tell from the picture below, super fun, passionate, incredibly smart and alway giving of his time. Check out the fun photo below:

He speaks at marketing events, helps out as the Digital Director for the Chamber of Commerce, volunteers his time helping The Prince's Trust. He gives a lot of his time to his peers, always sharing and helping others. He also does a tremendous amount of charitable work. He is just a real giver, always looking to help when he feels he is of value.

He was nominated by Faye and an anonymous nomination, here they are:

David has desire and passion for all aspects of SEO and he is only too willing to share his knowledge, experience and concepts and his love of the digital industry. He is very special - he is creative, intelligent, fast, collaborative and personable, with strong commercial acumen. He regularly attends and speaks at conferences and other events and it's always nice to see him and hear his views. David is amazing.

I met David at a social media event at the princes trust. David was the doing a talk (for charity) regarding social media for beginners. Since then David and I have kept in touch and he has helped me immensely, teaching me first the basics and then more sophisticated seo and digital marketing. And all he charges is a glass of whiskey.

David hasn't just helped me, but has helped many young entrepreneurs over the years I've known him and gives up a lot of his time to charitable work.

I work as an innovation consultant (David has also advised me on how to peruse a career as a consultant) and without David it would of been a harder journey. Always happy to help with a smile on his face - I see David more than just a mentor, but as a friend.

And on a side note, David is one of the premier SEO 'chaps' and you will have to look very long and hard to find someone with both the skills and character as David.

David Sayce Bio: I’ve be called a 'deep generalist' and while I title myself as a Digital Marketing Consultant, I’ve mostly been involved with search engine optimisation. The majority of my SEO work is around audits and training for businesses of all sizes. My wider Digital marketing work is about helping firms make the most of digital, integrating and optimising web, email, social, etc. into their day to day business.

Along side this I also have a role as a non-exec Digital Director for the Chamber of Commerce and run workshops and monitoring for The Prince’s Trust as a digital specialist volunteer. (If anyone in the UK wants to volunteer a day a month, give me a shout!)

Favorite thing about the SEO community? The SEO community! There are so many people who make up this community that are happy to help, share and advise on what they do. The SEO community are people I’m not just happy to work with but to also spend time with and share a beer with (which reminds me I own Omi Sido a beer and a catch up!)

One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Love what you do & pass it on this is what make SEO community so wonderful. Network, this has to be one of the easiest businesses to network with your peers, check out local meet ups (often in pubs/bars!)

Favorite things in general? Winning in the SERPs!! (joke) Being outside, whether it is in the sun of the South Carlsbad beach, on top of a sand dune at night somewhere in Morocco or in the local park with my daughter. Enjoying life and all that is going on around me. Color: A specific shade of blue as the sun goes down over the Pacific Ocean Food: Anything I’ve pick off a tree or pulled out of the ground, or a black n blue steak with a full bodied red

What you want to be known for in the SEO space? The world’s greatest SEO? Probably not...

I’m happy to just be know as someone who knew their stuff and was happy to help and share with others. My first thought when asked this question is one of my favourite quotes from Maya Angelou "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
