Bing For Schools, Finally?

New Bing LogoMatt Wallaert, a Behavioral Scientist at Microsoft but more well known for creating Bing For Schools posted on Twitter something strange. He wrote, "Finally, Bing for Schools. No ads, the way it should be in schools. Free, simple; is your district on BFS?"

To me, that sounds like a new launch, a new announcement, that Bing For Schools is new. But it has been in use since mid-2013, so this is confusing.

When questioned by Danny Sullivan on Twitter, he added some more statistics. Bing For Schools has now "served over 14 million ad-free, safe and private queries in pilot districts so far," Matt said. They are using this pilot for learning and hope "to expand" in the future.

I guess he was just happy with the growth of Bing For Schools?
