Max Prin

This is part of the say something nice about an SEO/SEM series - feel free to nominate someone over here.

Max Prin is currently only 30 years old and has become one of the most experienced SEOs in the topic of JavaScript and technical SEO in our industry. He was born Grasse, France but now lives in Bend, Oregon with his wife, Morgan, and his beautiful daughter, Alex who is now a bit over 20 months old.

He is the head of technical SEO at Merkle and has been so gracious about sharing his experience and findings from that position with the whole SEO community. He speaks at SMX events and other conferences about those findings. He writes at industry blogs and news publications as well. He is also pretty active on social media, including Twitter, sharing new tidbits of knowledge in his area of expertise.

Alexis Sanders nominated Max and wrote:

Max is one of the most wicked intelligent technical SEOs I've met with a huge breadth of knowledge. I've always admired his ability to tackle challenging concepts. He's never afraid to roll up his sleeves, get his hands dirty, and figure things out.

He's all of the this and serves as a mentor to many within our SEO team. I'm so appreciative of all the time and effort he's put into push our team and myself!

Max Prin Bio: Max Prin is the Head of Technical SEO at Merkle. The SEO technical team ensures the accuracy, feasibility and scalability of the agency’s technical recommendations. Max supports Merkle's SEO department by developing SEO best practices, tools and processes through research and testing. Max is also in charge of developing and publishing TechnicalSEO.com.

Favorite thing about the SEO community? While I am not familiar enough with other industries to compare, the willingness to share in this community is remarkable. There is not a formal school for SEO: experiencing on your own and learning from others’ experiences is the best, if not the only, way to progress. I am extremely thankful for that.

One piece of advice to the SEOs out there? Never settle, never stop reading, testing and learning. This industry moves too fast to do that. While it’s obviously useful to have been around for a long time, what you’ve learned last year might not be true today.

On a different level, this tweet from Ryan Jones would be my advice to SEOs: "stop chasing algorithms and start chasing the things the algorithms are trying to chase."

Favorite things in general? I am a terrible cook but I love food. Simple food like a steak and some green beans. I am French so I do like wine, but I live in Bend, Oregon which I believe has the best beers in the World (sorry Germany).

I love sport and especially going to basketball games. I also love playing disc gold in Central Oregon and playing ping pong in the office with @audette (still looking for a way to beat him).

What you want to be known for in the SEO space? I exclusively focus on technical SEO. From fixing crawling, rendering and indexing issues to optimizing page speed and relevance through structured data markup. Aside from that I’m trying to develop my coding skills by programming free SEO tools for TechnicalSEO.com.
